Corporate Challenge

The Sarpy County Leadership Legacy Group is coordinating the second annual "Serving for a Stronger Community Corporate Challenge," pickleball tournament at Smash Park Pickleball in LaVista on Saturday, February 7, 2026 starting at 8AM.

The purpose of the fundraiser is to raise awareness of food insecurity in Sarpy County, begin to address the immediate need in our schools of helping to pay down student’s school lunch debts, and to provide additional funding for backpack meal programs. The long-term goal of the project is to be a yearly fundraiser to raise money to help school children in Sarpy County facing food insecurity.

The facts are startling:

9% of children in Sarpy County are food insecure.
School lunches are often the only dependable meal these children receive.
The combined school lunch debt of Sarpy County Public Schools is at nearly $175,000 (2025)

If you are a family experiencing food insecurity, we encourage you to contact your child's school to complete the Free & Reduced Lunch application. By completing this simple form, your school could receive funds to help alleviate hunger, even if your family does not qualify.
